Next up, was Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor-Smallville). He was extremely entertaining. When told he was sexy by an audience member, he unbuttoned his shirt just slightly. It made my day for sure. :)~ I didn't take any notes from this talk, sorry all you Michael fans. Just have some pics of him below.
At 4:40 p.m. it was time to see the Buffy/Angel cast. First, the Save Angel Campaign staff was allowed to speak to let the fans know about the rally on March 31 at the Warner Brothers Ranch in Burbank. They are truly amazing folks. To date, they have singly handily raised $17,530.65 to pay for two ads in the daily trade papers as well as a movable Guerilla billboard strategically placed in front of executives offices of WB, Fox, etc. And, an additional $11,000 plus dollars has been raised for the Los Angeles Food Bank because Angel helps the helpless.
They stated, even if it turns out that Angel is not renewed, they feel their campaign will not be in vain. TV has been moving to more reality programing and away from genre TV. The assault on a quality show doing well in the ratings (namely Angel) was just the final blow. They see it as a bigger battle to save TV as we know it. You can support their continued work. Also, charitable giving and a blood drive are part of the campaign. Go here. (Shout out to Buffy-Angel fans - if you are familiar with the names of the folks in this picture, please let me know so I can add them. They said their names so fast, I couldn't jot it down. Thanks.)
The Buffy-Angel cast didn't start on time. This was mostly due to Andy Hallett having a really long autograph line. We were waiting for about 10 minutes. During that time, we saw a Buffy video. It was the last event of the day.
Then, they all came out. They were a great group to see. Mark Lutz and James Leary sang the Spiderman theme song. Robia LaMorte shared she wants to get a part on General Hospital. Julie Benz stated what a great group of fans they had because of the support Angel campaign. They truly get behind their actors and the show. Andy Hallett sang a few bars for us. He is always a huge crowd pleaser. Julie Benz didn't know if she was going to be on Angel or not for the final episode. Andy Hallett and Mercedes McNab seemed really sad that Angel was going to be ending. Iyari Limon stated she was going on auditions all the time but wasn't currently in anything. That's all I remember really. I didn't take copious notes here either and just enjoyed.
I really enjoyed my day with Creation Entertainment. My ticket was sent to me in the mail so there was no long line to register. There were no long lines for autographs, events started on time and the staff was friendly and helpful. Because she thought I had lost money in the vending machine, a cleaning lady told me whom I should talk to. She assured me that they would refund my money. That is service!
I would gladly the money I paid to go to have this nice of a time. It was a treat! It was also great to catch up with Jonathan. And especially, thanks honey for the drive out there and back. Don't forget to Save Angel by helping at the links below.
