Leviathans and Duh

I've been watching the Leviathans of late. Real creepy story line so far. Jonathan Frid is hot and really creepy all at the same time. I'm not sure what the hub bub is all about when everyone says they hate the storyline. It's Dark Shadows after all. Always nice to see Dennis Patrick. He sure makes a different enough of a character that you don't really remember he was Jason McGuire before.

Interesting Turn by Selby

Today's episodes (862-863) reveals the other flip of the coin with David Selby's Quentin attempting to be Petofi with Quentin's body. Again, excellent acting turn. Humbert Allen Astredo turns in an excellent performance as calm, cool, in control, Evan Hanley. Then, gives it a twist with bitch slapped, grave-digging, controlled Evan Hanley.

I'm very sorry for Trask as he is going to befall some tragedy from Judith. The very in charge Judith who also seemed to have a whack at poor, Mr. Hanley.

Vampire Quiz and other Items

This was a fun vampire quiz to take...

Undying Artist

You are the Undying Artist. Moody, erratic, and
empassioned, you find art in the darkness. You
cultivate dark beauty and dark artists to
surround yourself and drink of the song in
their blood.

What Fictional Vampire Archtype are You?

It's nice to know I'm still on the artistic side.

Thayer David is an amazing actor. I watched a Dark Shadows episode today where he is Quentin in the body of Count Petofi. What a shiny star he was. Gestures strained as he is trying to act like Petofi but he is really humbled, trapped Quentin. Good stuff. I'm very sorry I missed his Kojak episode this week. Hopefully, I'll catch it next time.

Well Barnabas figured out the curse today. He bit Beth. Aw... lucky girl. I love this period with him. He just pops in and out of everywhere with his green light just looking so very delicious.

I can't wait for the next disc. I've been in need of some epidoses lately.:) I also want to change this blog layout. I have a really good idea for it too. But, you'll all have to wait until I put it together. hee hee.

Vacation-Day 1 - December 18

Sugar Daddy and I finally got to take a well deserved vacation to New York City for Christmas. We've been married almost 13 years without this kind of vacation and boy did we both need it!

Doritos Crunchie Munchies
We traveled from Long Beach to JFK via Jet Blue Airlines. They were serving this new delicious munchie, Doritos Crunchies. They are a delicious combination of Sun Gold chips, pretzels, Cheetos and Doritos Nacho Flavor chips. As a chip connoisseur, these belonged to the chip hall of fame. I ate two bags worth on the five hour trip.

The trip was uneventful. Mostly, I was entertained by the Direct TV you get on every flight. I watched the movie I Robot. It had its good moments but not anything great. Mostly, it had some good fight moments.

We took Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (NY Taxi) to Manhattan and settled into our hotel. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. We shopped for provisions like cereal, milk, water and off to bed we went.

I didn't take any pictures today.

Dark Velvet

Music: Various
Opera Singer Robert Merrill died at his home this week-end at the age of 85, no 87. He was watching the World Series on TV. He is well known to the opera world by his many recordings, singing the Star Spangled Banner at Yankee Stadium and talk show appearances. Merrill also popularized opera to the masses. I suppose you can say he was a "cross-over" artist before that was a popular thing to do.

Beverly Sills describes his voice as dark velvet. I think that sums it up.

I have been distressed by the number of deaths in the music world this year. We have lost Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein and David Raskin.

Yes, I Know no Posts in Mighty Long Time

Music: Carmen (Bizet)
Thoughts: It's election hell. I just believe that this election is not going to go well for the progressives. Four more year of Bush, and I may be in a coma for several more years. No telling when I will wake up.

Not my normal cup of tea for this site. However, it's just nagging at me. I'm very, very concerned for the poor of this country. For those needing health care, for those that have it and can't afford it.

Don't know how much longer Bush is going to be able to sustain his fiscal policies. I can tell you from experience that going into debt to the tune of $7,429,511,697,284.39 is not a good idea. With so many baby boomers either at retirement or about there, it's going to get worse rather then better. The Social Security and Medicare dollars from our tax returns goes to pay the current retirees and is not put into a separate pot. It's all in one pot. There is no way anyone is going to be able to sustain several wars and this glut of retirees and still cut taxes. It's going to cause more inflation.

Wages are stagnated. I hear all the time from clients that don't want to give too many raises or no raises at all. This would increase taxes.

Just picture this as an evil monsters tentacles going out to the poor and middle classes and sucking the life out it and you'd have it about right. Only thing is they are not going to have much more to suck. Even Henry Ford paid his workers enough to be able to buy his cars. Food for thought.
