Shadowgram Update 05/28/04
Warner Bros Productions (not the separate WB network), Dan Curtis Productions and John Wells Productions are still looking into other options for the 2004 Pilot show. For now, we have to hang tight for further news.
EXCLUSIVE DAN CURTIS DVD (not the bobblehead, damn)is available for order at the Dark Shadows Festival web site. It's a promotional 1 hour DVD featuring greetings to Dan from various actors along with Dan chatting about his 40 years in TV.
FESTIVAL AUGUST 13-15, 2004 - Yes, it's time to get your tickets and get going to the Annual Dark Shadows Festival in Tarrytown, New York at the Westchester Marriott Hotel, 670 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY. Sign up at the Dark Shadows Festival web site and grab your discounted hotel room. Further information is available there.
Here is a link to an article where someone named YS reviews the pilot. It doesn't have spoilers. href="http://www.darkhorizons.com/news04/040527d.php">Click
Ted Danson joins the cast of the Dan Curtis directed Our Fathers as Boston attorney, Mitchell Garabedian. Filming is scheduled to begin on June 21 in Boston and Toronto.
Curtis will also serve as executive producer along with David Kennedy, president of Dan Curtis Productions.
In an interesting footnote to the recent Dark Shadows saga, the John Wells Produced "Jonny Zero" is being picked up by Fox in January 2005 as part of its year round programming. Warner Bros. Television is also co-producing the drama with Johns Wells Productions.
Franky G stars as a former inmate using his criminal skills to solve crime.
2004 Pilot is No Go, victoriawinters staked in Heart Twice by WB
WB announces their official fall line-up. Reality is in, Dark Shadows is out. Check what they picked by clicking here.
Shadowgram adds:
"The WB can still order DS as a mid-season replacement, but that is not expected. The producers of the pilot -- Warner Bros TV/Dan Curtis Productions/John Wells Productions -- will pursue all available options, including the possibility of placing the program on another network.
SG will provide updates as soon as they become available."
This is a let down especially the day before the last Angel. I'm very sad, sad, sad....... I've been staked in the heart two times by the WB.
On some positive notes, I am very glad we made it this far. It did seem to revive interest in the show. Plus, I got to meet some of the new cast members and co-executive producer, Mark Verheiden.
Jonathan is going full steam ahead adding comments and screen captures having to do with his first days as Barnabas. He has a nice write-up about Joan Bennett and what it was like working with her.
"Jonathan has added some screen grabs on the first page of his website taken from the introduction of Barnabas on the series. The screen grabs were inspired by a fan's favorite DS memory and Jonathan has started to talk about his memories of that episode. A more detailed memory will be available on May 10th.
There has been widespread rumors re-posted on various "news" organizations and web site about the WB not picking up the new 2004 Dark Shadows.
At the present moment, these are unsubstantiated rumors. Credence should not be given to them.
While it's not a done deal, the final word does not come out until May 18, 2004. There always is a chance it will not be picked up. Until then, "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride."
Dan Curtis will appear on two live radio shows. These shows are syndicated nationwide so check with a radio station near you. Rock Classics Show on Wednesday, May 5 at 3:00 PM PT/6:00 ET and on Jim Bohannon on Friday, May 7 at 7:00 PM PT and 10:00 PM ET.
