News, News, News
Festival News - No announcement was for the next fest was made at the 2004 Event. Thus, it remains a Dark Shadows mystery.
Dan Curtis - The DVD for The Night Stalker and The Night Strangler is out on a double sided DVD. Some of the best of horror from the 70s is here. Enjoy!
Marley Shelton - John Wells Productions has plucked Marley Shelton (Victoria Winters, 2004 WB Dark Shadows)for a role in The West Wing. Seems John Wells is plucking many of the 2004 Pilot actors and using them elsewhere. Related story is here.
Since John Wells is so rarely photographed, I thought I would share this one with you. It's here. He looks all shiny with his big smile and face. Ooo needs powder.... Hope you enjoy.
Majestic Studios, under license from Dan Curtis Productions, will be releasing Quentin and Barnabas 12" action figures in fall of 2005. The prototypes were shown at the San Diego Comic Con. You can see them here. Both of the figures come with different heads. Quentin can be Quentin or the werewolf and comes in 1897 clothes. Barnabas can be old Barnabas or come with his vampire teeth barred. He also comes in either 1795 Barnabas or present day Barnabas.
Majestic Studios is releasing the Zuni Fetish Warrior Doll from Trilogy of Terror, another Dan Curtis film, in mid-September 2004. That doll makes me shudder..... Here is the Majestic Studios site to see the Zuni Fetish Warrior Doll. Also, write to them and show your support for the Dark Shadows figures.
Filmmaker Ryan Murphy (creator of "Nip/Tuck") reports that Dark Shadows was his favorite show growing up. He used to watch with his grandmother everyday. See the article here.
Tom Hewitt (Dracula, The Musical) also has the Dark Shadows Guilty Pleasure Addiction Syndrome. He watched it while growing up in Montana. This article is here. The article also interviews Elizabeth Miller, noted Bram Stoker professor. Her take of the Dracula story and it's change over time is always interesting.
The Hallmark Channel has moved up it's debut of Frankenstein starring Alec Newman (Barnabas, 2004 Dark Shadows) in the title role from late October to October 5 and 6, 2004. Check your local listings for the time.
